Pinterest is the latest social media phenom that is monopolizing people’s time. In the beginning it was the venue of brides-to-be, wanna be gourmet cooks and of course, fashionistas. Pinterest has now gone mainstream, adding over 10 million users a month and growing faster than Google+, facebook, myspace and youtube combined.

Hitch a Ride on a Timeless Classic

Airstream’s are a weakness for me. They represent the allure of freedom of the road, in a timeless design that has withstood the whims of fashion. As a dedicated flyfisherman I can’t imagine a more fashionable way to visit my favorite streams than in a sleek, gleaming Airstream.

Between now and December 11th, Orvis is offering in an online public auction a one of a kind 1954 Airstream, completely refurbished in a style reminiscent of the great Adirondacks camps, and ready to roll for the lucky winner bidder. Behind the shell is a modern trailer, featuring new brakes, axles, suspension, wheels, tires and couplers.  Inside, the cabin is a warm blending of leather, wood and copper.

It would be easy to imagine yourself in a cabin along the Bitteroot….. but the great thing is you can hook it up the next morning and take off for Madison.
